Leaking oil

It is leaking from somewhere and getting onto the exhaust manifold or pipe. Prime suspects are the cam cover gasket, distributor shaft seal, or oil filter mounting.

You can buy a fluoro tracer dye eg

You give the engine a really good clean all over, add this dye to the oil in recommended amount, drive around a bit, and shine a blacklight lamp on the engine parts.

The leak will glow. If it is everywhere too much, clean and repeat with less driving before checking.

I recently replaced my intake gaskets and after repairs im having transmission up shifting problems.

Check your Radiator coolant. If the coolant looks like chocolate milk, you have a cooling system leak into the transmission oil. Frequently misdiagnosed as engine oil mixing with coolant.

How to fix oil leak 2000 camry?

get it totally clean
drive 5 miles
look for leak
the key is to find WHAT is leaking.?

can be many things,
bad clogged PCV valve causing all things to leak or worse.
casing flaws that cause leaks (aluminum porosity issues)

until WHAT leaks is found
there will be NO costs, quotes, ever.
if not handy then just get it fixed, what choices are there?
not handy.?
sell it, ignore it. or?

no sane man quotes unknown repairs.
unless said man wants to eat losses. big time.

use IR dye in the oil with lamp IR .
then run car and see the dye marks as it leaks.
now you know both ways. (old and new)
leak on.

Oil leak. Even when car is not running .the car is not smoking, but using an extreme amount of oil.

Go to any auto parts store and purchase a bottle of engine oil dye. You will also need an Ultra Violet Lamp which can be purchased at most pet stores, drug stores, and hardware stores. Follow the directions as labled on the bottle and you will find the leak source fairly easy and quickly using the UV Lamp as required

Oil low in red lamp

The substance is a clear antifreeze. The purpose is to keep the phosphors on the CRT cool so it wont burn. If the liquid was low, it means there is a seal or bladder leak somewhere. The tube needs to be removed and the leak can be patched with silicone rubber or the blader needs replacing.( check for cracks). Refill with coolant and re install. Use rubber gloves because the liquid coolant is hazardous to your health.
