Easy, but it will reset all print jobs.

Goto Control Panels.
Open Administration Tools
Open Services
Find Printer Spooler
-Right click and choose restart

I cancelled a document while it was printing and it is still in my queue days later as deleting and it wont let me print anything else or restart that print job.

The best way to delete the print job is to turn the printer off, then disconnect the cable from the printer to the computer. Turn the printer on with the cables off, and go to your computer and delete the document, Then once it's deleted, turn the printer off again, and then hook the cable back up. Then turn the printer back on. That should do it.

Good Luck

This is the simple way to get rid of your stuck document. Do not short cut.

Delete your printer from within the control panel/printer folder.

Go to and get the latest version of your print driver that matches your operating system. Put the download on your desktop for easy locating.

Turn off your printer, turn off your computer, disconnect your printer from your computer and unplug the printer's power cord. Wait ... Turn on your computer ... run the driver (package) you just downloaded. Plug in the power cord for the printer. Do not plug in your printer data cord until instructed to do so. Follow the on screen instructions for loading the driver exactly.

This will get you up and printing again.

My printer will not print. When you check the status of the document it says printing. When you cancel that it doesn't cancel. DAYS later the document prints all by itself. What's that about?

It's because the print queue is saved on the printer's flash memory. This happens when you don't cancel the queues properly or terminated improperly. To get rid of the issue, always try to give the command slowly and don't over load. If you are printing photos, try to make the file size small so that it'll not take long to spool and prepare for printing.

When the problem occurs, so as follows:

Cancel the queues from the print status box ("Cancel all documents"), if they are not cancelled, then turn off the printer (directly unplug the power cord from the printer), it you still see the printing status, keep on cancelling until everything's gone.

If the problem persists, restart your computer. Definitely the problem will be fixed.

It's also important to press the cancel button while the printer powers On.

Good luck.

I started to print a document and noticed it was 18 pages and canceled the printing. Now the printer won't print and the button next to the on/off button just flashes when I try to print something. What do...

I'm not sure why your printer stopped in the first place, but one reason why it won't print is because the print queue is blocked with old document requests.

Try going into your printer properties and remove all documents listed in the print queue.

(Start - Printer/faxes) - default printer - RMB - Properties).

I cant find how to cancel printing on my lexmark x1270

If you click on the printer icon (bottom right) of your screen and look at the print queue you should be able to stop printing and cancel the print job or all the print jobs in the print queue.

Oh, apart from the interesting non-standard lights, you may well be able to solve the problem by emptying the print queue to get rid of the gibberish document. Double click your printer icon (start-control panel -printers and faxes) to bring up the print queue. Right click the queue and select cancel all. Once they are cancelled, turn the printer off and on - have the error lights gone? If so, print a test page, if not, report back.
