Re: cannot connect to internet

What was the reason it crashed, How was it recovered?

Sounds like a Windows file is corrupted.

What does your ISP carry? If you are on Ethernet, look in the system configuration and see if Network adapter is listed and not Yellow Exclamation. You can do a diag from this point on your Ethernet. If you don't have an Ethernet connection, buy a 3com card.

Hp compaq dc5700, internet connection fails and needs constant repair to work, I have all current drivers from HP and windows XP Pro updates, I tried a network card in a PCI slot and had the same problems.

Are you connected to a router? If so, then it is your router that is failing since it could not sustain a network connection with your PC.

Possible causes include defective or failing DSL modem. Lastly, your ISP.

But based on your description, you seemed to be disconnected from network and needs "repair" of the network IP to renew in order to connect to the internet. If that is the case, please check your router first.

My computer crashes or freezes a lot

It might be a virus.
Probably Lsass virus. This virus can get into your computer and really cause havoc with your network connections and also deny you access to certain internet sites.
You need a Lsass removal tool.
try to go here
and download the tool, and follow the instructions.
good luck

I bought an HP Laptop 3 months ago (with Windows Vista) and the Internet keeps crashing when I'm online. It starts up again automatically, which helps, but I lose the pages I was on. Is is my PC or Vista?...

Try clearing your browser history & cache. When these get to full it causes the problem you describe. You can access these features from the tools icon on your browser>internet options. Hope this helps.

I have been confused about my internet connection lately. My ISP is Qwest DSL and I have friends that have the exact same connection as I do. Now when I'm trying to play an online game using a wired...

when you are playing with a friend and they are hosting it, it can be their connection that is causing the lag, the same goes if you host and they experience lag, the wireless and wired connection will be the same internet speed, but with wireless the data is transfered at 54MBPS over from the router to your xbox, but wired transfers at 100MBPS, the internet speed is always the same with both.

There are other factors which can cause lagging, one of which depends on the amount of people surfing using your ISP at the same time and sharing your line bandwith.

The DSL router/modem will receive an address from your ISP (Qwest) and will assign an address to the connected PC.

There should be a cable that goes from your DSL modem to your PC. It'll either be a USB cable (flat rectangular plug on the PC end), or a RJ45 (looks like a wider telephone plug).

If there is neither connection between the DSL modem and your PC, then the PC can't "talk" to the DSL modem, so it's not getting an address from the DSL modem.

Explore.exe, application error, memory could not be written

this is probably relating to explorer which is your desktop display for a specific programme. Explore as you say, or do you mean internet explorer, if so download updates for windows. It could also refer to a virus, so when you reinstalled did the recovery cd format the drive first then install or just install over the top of the original installation. If it did format first then it will not be virus. The system crash will be because the system is probably using up all the remaining memory.
