Sounds like you have a blown capacitor in the main power circuit. had similar problem tv repair guy changed the blown capacitor and now it works fine, you will need to contact a repair agent for your tv type

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.
When my lamp died the bulb literally exploded. That may be what you heard. Have you check the lamp? If the lamp is ok, the lamp's ballast or power supply might have blown.
