Using an external mp3 player on my JVC KD-LX111

I recently bought a used car with a JVC KD-LX111 in it, and I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to connect my mp3 player to the system, so that I can listen to my mp3 player through the car's audio system.

I've looked at the user's manual, and I understand there is an adaptor (KS-U57) that I would need to connect an external unit. (I even think I've located the connection site--in the glove box.) But when I looked at the KS-U57 webpage on the JVC website, it only mentioned VCPs. I couldn't tell, from the picture, whether the ends of the adaptor would accept a standard headphone jack. (I have an extension chord with two "male" ends on it, so it the adaptor would allow it, I could plug one end into the adaptor and one end into the mp3 player.)

Any insights?

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can offer.

The KS-U57 is the correct adapter for that headunit. I am actually buying that same head unit for my car and I wanted to play my Zune through the radio. And i hate FM Modulators/Transmitters so aux is the only option i want. but you could buy the adapter from crutchfield hope that helps :)

You could try using an FM transmitter which plugs into the earphone jack on your Mp3 player, then all you have to do is tune the radio to pick up the transmitters frequency.

I have recently bought a car that has a jvc kd-r601 stereo and I have disconnected battery and now it wont work, any ideas?

Reconnecting the battery causes a surge which can pop fuse. Generally there will be a fuse panel under the hood and underneath or on the side of a dash. There is also a fuse on the back of the stereo

Jvc kd-g340 rear speakers not working. I recently bought the car with this unit installed. I noticed that there is a l/r cable, power, ground in the trunk which means there was probably a subwoofer...

check the wires in the back of the stereo if not then make sure the back speakers are not hooked up to a internal amp and if it is make sure that it is not blown

Jvc kd lx111 deck wont eject cd

I just had this problem today and when I attempted to eject the CD it would give me an error message that stated (ERR 32). Apparently this means that there is something blocking the movement of the screen, a little manipulation should help the issue. Another variable could be the Eject lock feature, essentially a "child lock" for your disc. When this lock is activated it prevents the CD in the deck to be ejected. You can change this by holding down the blue source button and the eject button simultaneously for about 2 or 3 seconds. A message should appear saying "No Eject" and one that repeatedly flashes "Eject on" These two things seemed to help me alot when I had this issue. If those things don't work I would recommend calling JVC, much to my suprise they were actually really helpful. Their number is 1-800-252-5722.

JVC KD-G420 in 2000 Toyota Tocoma

today's in-dash cd players are a 2 part mounting system. One part is the carrier chassis that is hard mounted to the dash. Then the cd player slides into part 1 and latches. To remove player from part 1, insert 2 long and narrow metal tools along each side to un-latch the player. The tools come with a new unit. To make these, try making them out of 1/16 inch thick metal and trimming to following dimensions: 6 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and at one end, narrow down to about 1/8 inch about 1 inch from the end. deburr all edges. This 2 part system is designed for anti-theft defense.
