How to fix my projector?

Model no MP8747. Message says 'no input on video'. I have changed to S video cable, same message came up. Projector is ten years old and I have never had any problems before. I use it for video presentations at meetings.

SOURCE: No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.

SOURCE: dell 1200mp

Hi jezzwhizz

You'll see that at the back of your Projector there is 2 VGA ports 1 in (normally blue) and 1 out ( normally grey ).

You are most probably using the grey one , switch it to blue.

ASK Proxima C420 shuts down after 30 seconds. No indication of overheating or lamp problem.

Might be a problem with the video input. Try a different cable. If HDMI, you will need a really good cable for HDTV or 3D, and they are very expensive. My 12 foot cable cost $180.

Reduce the screen resolution to 600x480 for instance and see if the projector can handle the low res output OK. Then increase screen resolution on the PC unitl the error message appears. Try the video menu settings in the acer

No display from composite video input

Composite video are yellow RCA jacks and are made for analog signals of standard definition video. If you are connecting a digital source or a high definition output, it may be beyond the capabilities of the projector. You may be able to find a VGA to composite adapter if you laptop or whatever has a VGA output port. VGA is along the same lines of composite (analog, standard definition).

How do i connect cable tv to my dell 2200mp projector

You can connect it directly with a composite cable. There would be a RCA(yellow) video output on the back of your cable TV. This is then connected to Video input(yellow) f you projector.

If your cable TV has Component output (threr RCA cable Green, Red, Blue), then these thre RCA could be connected to the similar one available on your Projector.

You could connect your sound als o thru the RCA out of Cable TV and input of Projector. But if you have a good AV Receiver or a sound system then it best suited for it, since the projector speaker is mono and only 2Watt output.
Let me know if there are any specific inputs required
The Dell 2200 mp projector has the following compatibility
:HDTV: 1080i, 720p
EDTV/480p: Yes SDTV/480i: Yes Component Video: Yes Video: Yes Digital Input: No Computers: Yes

No input signal form a laptop to a projector

Hi jkoceng,

What type of interface cable are you using to connect to the projector? 15-pin VGA? S-video?

Generally on laptops if you look at the keyboard on the function keys (F1, F2, etc.) you'll see little icons such as adjustment of volume, brightness, etc. Look for one that looks like a monitor or screen. Usually this is on the F5 or F6 key. If the icon is blue, look for the corresponding key on the keyboard (Fn key, CTRL, Alt, etc.) and then hold that when connected to the projector while you press the appropriate function key. This should alleviate your problem.

Of course, you'll also want to be certain that you're using the correct input function on the projector.
