Re: Broken battery door

I even figured out how to replace the door. take out the 2 screws on the viewfinder side, and the 4 screws on the bottom, gently pry the body apart just enough so you can turn the door slighty sideways, and the door pops right out. Then install the new one, reversing the procedure making sure you get the tension spring back in the slot behind the pc card (green). Pretty simple, and Kodak wants $105.00 to do it.

You could use a piece of velcro as a strap but I would start looking at ebay or other places for the parts to fix it. Sooner or later someone will sell it.

Nikon D200 battery door - is it broken?

The battery door is meant to come off so the MB-D200 battery pack can be inserted, but it sounds as if yours has broken. There should be equally-sized rods that form the pivoting hinge, on on top and one on the bottom. Yes, you can buy a replacement part, probably through a local dealer or online. I believe online they cost around $20-$25. To remove the door, you are supposed to open the door to a 60-degree angle to the camera body and gently pull the door off. To replace the door, again, hold the door at a 60-degree angle to the body and gently press it into place. Or you could pay a repair shop an arm and leg to do this for you ($50 or more + shipping if you use a mail order repair shop).

I remember the 'good old days' when film SLR's were made to take a beating. Sadlly, we're in the era of plastic and I always have to remember to treat every piece of equipment as if it were made of glass!

Hope this helps?

I have a Nikon D40 where the battery cover latch has broken through on the bottom of the camera body. It's similar to a door jab busting where the latch fits into the door jab. It looks like the bottom of...

You'll have to get that from Nikon, ( the bottom cover ). I doubt if you will find it else where.

Power shot a75 does not turn on.

First, check that the battery terminals are clean and in contact with the batteries. Next, there are two door switches on the A75 that need to close to operate the camera. One is by the flash card door, the other by the battery door. A small piece of plastic on each door activates the switches when the doors are closed. Check to make sure that both of these are indeed being pushed in all the way when the doors are closed. Hope this helps at least one of you peeps.
