Remove Cassette Error

Everytime I put in a MiniDV tape, it shows the "Remove Cassette" message. When i go to pull out the tape, some of the tape's ribbon is pulled out as if the camera was trying to eat the tape.

What do I do?

I hve the same problem. I can see I will probably have to send the camera in for repair, but the problem is, I NEED THE TAPE!!! Is there any way to get the tape out? This tape represents two days of shooting, and it's the main audio.

Ya my Canon GL2 immediately tells me to eject a tape when it detects it and when pulling the tape out it pulls the film out of the tape. What is the most simple way of fixing this problem?

the "Remove Cassette" problem is a known defect of the Canon GL2. Just search the web, Ebay, etc. Canon refuses to acknowledge the defect. Someone else that I work with has the exact same problem. This attorney is looking into a class action suit against Canon. Shara L. Celi: sceli@dmlaws.com.

I repair gl2s for canon and when you get a remove cassette message 9 times out of 10 it is 2 gears on the m-chassis that have failed they spit oil all over the inside and then the gear comes in contact with the m-chassis and binds up they are both white and in the middle you can see one when you open it and the other is on the inside that you cant see unless you take take the cover off and thats why you get that message but the ribbon part is something else that needs to be looked at you should send it in to a qualified canon repair facility. tell them the chassis is defective its actually code D106, E52, send those codes in with canon and make sure they see them.

Can't eject tape from deck

On Sony DSR-80P error 02-221 and 02-291 is a problem with the tape pull-in or eject. Mostly the tape stickers are bad situated over the stripe-cover at the top, which should be moving freely!
Remove the stickers from the tape or put them lower on the case. If the tape is already inside the machine is unable to reject the tape - disconnect the machine from electricity to open it or call service...

Error F03

F03 is a loading mechanism error. look for something obstructing the loading arms in the mechanism - a label from a tape, a piece from a broken cassette, etc.

Camcorder Canon ZR 200

First if you have a very bad tape (miniDV) (hard to turn by your hand) the camera will automatically eject coz it cant load the tape to it. it is not a head problem. It seems that you have a mechanical loading issue here. But try to put new miniDV tape. ANd post here what happen. PS Dont use compress gas to clean it you might put new problem. Please use only the head cleaner tape (MiniDV) if you want to clean the head. Hope this may help you

Camera cassette errors

Often in this situation there are two issues that can casue the problem you are having. 1. The tape is casuing the camera to "reject" it. In other words, it thinks there is something wrong with the tape so it is warning you with the error message. Perhaps the cassette has been damaged slightly. This error can also happen when the tape has been used often or taped over a few times. Solution: Try using a new tape. 2. The camera may need to be cleaned. The recording heads may be dirty and it doesn't matter what tape is placed in there. Purchase a cleaning tape from a consumer electronics store. Make sure you read the directions very carefully. These are cheap fixes. If it works, great. Otherwise it may need to be serviced by your local technician. Let me know how it goes.
