Exact same thing happened to me. After a power failure my Frigidaire stove worked and the clock worked but bake broil and self clean gave me a DR error. Tried everything to reset nothing worked. When I unplugged and plugged back in I got an f13 code.I changed the control board and the entire oven is back in business!
The self clean setting on ovens should be labelled "Self Destruct". This often overheats the timer. This company does oven control repairs. You just remove the timer and send it to them. They repair it for $106 and send it back. There is no charge if they can't repair it.
UNPLUG the stove. It sounds like the cord has a problem, possibly one of the wires has broken and is shorting out. Have a qualified person check it out.
make sure your power connector is tightly plugged into the outlet- also, check for any signs of possible rodent (no offense!) damage to the wiring! sometimes it's hard to tell if the little devils are lurking about!you may want to unplug the cord and inspect for corrosion. you may want to turn off the breaker for the stove. i assume it's 220 volt. then spray plug with a little WD40. let it dry a bit, and plug it back in, then reset the breaker! if that isn't it, you may have a loose connection, or more inside your stove. in that case, get a pro to check it out!! then do the math- will it cost more to fix it than it will to replace it?? your choice! good luck!
I have a GE stove which I purchased in 2004, and it is doing the same. I heard beeping coming from the kitchen in the middle of the night . I went to the kitchen and the oven was on by itself. I have been unplugging it when not using it. Maybe this could be a recall.
YOU HAVE A SURFACE UNIT SWITCH GOING BAD take off the backand look at the switches if you have a volt ohm meter you can check for power to the light if you dont have a meter you can unplug the stove and pull each wire 1 at a time and see which one is sending power when plugged back in once you find the one replace it and problem solved
I couldn't get the cover off. Its wedged right between the baseboard and the floor. There are no screws to take if off that I could see. They came into the wall from the attic with it so its not like I can go in the basement and check anything. I'll try to get into it tomorrow. Thanks a million for your help.
