Black& Decker grasshog electric weedeater GH600.. 2007.Need advise removing the guard. No screw, but 3 springy tabs. I don't have 3 hands to move them at the same time

Removing the guard on your Black & Decker Grasshog electric weedeater GH600 can be tricky without three hands, but here's a method you can try: 1. Use a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool to depress one of the springy tabs while holding it down. 2. While holding the first tab down, use a second tool (another flathead screwdriver, a pair of pliers, etc.) to depress a second tab. 3. Once you have two tabs depressed, you should be able to use your free hand to push or pull the guard away from the trimmer. 4. If needed, use the same method to depress the third tab and completely remove the guard. Alternatively, you might ask someone to assist you by holding down the tabs while you remove the guard. If you're still having trouble, refer to the user manual or contact Black & Decker customer support for further assistance.

Chain saw brake on husquvarna model 41

To replace the brake band do as follows, remove the bar nuts and take the brake away from the saw, engae the brake to remove as much tention off the internall spring by pushing the hand guard fully forward, remove the allen screw securing the hand guard, do not remove the e clip and pin from the hand guard, tap out the pivot collers and remove the hand guard, remove the cross head screws securing the spring cover, carefully remove the spring from under neath, tap out the silver pivot pin from the knee link activating arm, use a puch from the other side of the brake to remove the roll pin securing the other end of the band, with the band out remove the screw securing the band to the knee link, install the knee link to a new brake band, re fit the roll pin in the band and re fit into the cover, insert the spring, this will have to be compressed to get it back in, re fit the spring cover, you need now to load the brake, fit the hand guard onto the cover, insert a conical puch through the hand guard and cover to enable you to pivot the hand guard back and load the brake, now fit the hand guard properly onto the cover and re fit the collors and screws.

I am having a difficult time reinstalling the cover plate with the clutch spring not slipping over the shaft/clutch, any suggestions?

If the chain brake has activated the band will now be smaller than the drum, you need to load the load the brake, if the hand guard is on the brake itself, clamp the brake in a vice, be careful not to damage the cover, grab the hand guard and pull it firmly back until it clicks and the brake is off, if the hand guard is on the machine undo the fixing screws and remove the hand guard, now use this to engage into the brake and load.

Brake on poulon chainsaw 18"

The brake on this machine is a knee link design, this is an over centre catch, if there is excessive dirt under the over centre mechanism it will not lock properly and so come on prematurley, you need to remove the brake from the machine, activate the brake to release most of the spring tention, remove the hand guard fixing screw and collers, remove the hand guard carefully remove the screws securing the spring cover, be aware there is a compression spring under here, inspect the internal components, clean out any accumulated dirt and debris, replace the cover and hand guard, load the brake by pulling the hand guard fully back, the other option is to just replace the complete brake assembly part no. 530054740

Changed blade on 16" model

It is probably because the brake is on, the band is now smaller that the drum, you need to load the brake before it will go back on,if the hand guard is on the brake cover itself, clamp the brake in a vice, be careful not to damage the cover, now pull the hand guard fully back until the brake clicks off, if the hand guard is on the machine itself, remove the hand guard and use this as a tool to re load the brake in the vice.

Husky mod. 51chainsaw. how do i re-assemble chain brake lever? i do not know how to reset the handle to allow the internal clutch locking spring to slip over the clutch

To re assemble the hand guard back onto the brake cover, place the hand guard as best you can onto the side cover, now use a conical punch to push throught the hand guard and cover, now useing the punch as a pivot pull the hand guard fully back until the brake loads, once loaded remove the puch, the hand guard should now easily align back onto the cover, insert the two puvot collers and re fit the allen screw.

How do you replace the cover that has the spring-band chain break? I can't seem to get it over the clutch. There must be a trick.

You need to load the brake, it has obviously activated and the band is now smaller than the drum, if the hand guard is connected to the brake, clamp the side cover in a vive, be carefull not to damage the cover, now pull the hand guard fully back, it will take some force as it is compressing a large spring, it will click when the brake loads, if the hand gaurd is on the machine not the brake, remove the hand guard from the machine and use this as a tool to fit into the brake, with the cover in a vice pull the hand guard fully back until it clicks. the cover should now fit back onto the saw.

Change blade

OK first raise the cutting head. Loosen the screw that holds the guard in place and move out of the way. Find the spindle lock on the right hand side of the gearcase and turn blade by hand (UNPLUG SAW FIRST) until it locks. With the wrench supplied with saw put it on the blade bolt and turn it clockwise to loosen, it has left hand threads, remove outer flange and blade. Let me know it you need any more help
