if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it

My computer does not regonize any audio devices

From a distance, it sounds like you do not have the sound card drivers installed. Since it is a SoundBlaster card, go to and download a utility that finds, indentifies, and then installs the drivers for your sound card. That should fix the problem. If not, then you have other issues going on with motherboard drivers not being installed installed.

Check to see if you have your sound drivers installed. If you do have the correct sound drivers installed then make sure you have them plugged into the right jack.

Once you verified all of this, if you can't get your speakers to work then it may be a problem with your speakers, try a known good set and if the sound still doesn't come out it could be a problem with the motherboard.

I had to reinstall my windows xp and my speakers are plugged in but no sound comes from them and my computer cant find them

If you are trying to re-install windows, you have to re-install the sound drivers also once the setup is complete.
You cannot hear any sound untill you install proper sound drivers.

Good day!
Please check the cord of the speaker if it is inserted at the right socket of your unit, or was the audio driver was installed? check if you see a speaker icon at the task bar. If you see an icon (speaker) maybe the speaker was not activated, double click that speaker icon, then, see if the volume was check, or other options, if none click options, properties, try other options by checking the box.
Thanks hope can solve your problem.

My speakers on my Dell computer quit working.

1) check audio driver is installed in system or not it may have some one remove audio driver.
2)If driver installed check volume is not mute.
3)If all thing is ok check speaker in another system by connecting it.
4) If spk is working in another system. it means sound card of that system is faulty.
