You wont have pin numbers however it will be marked sla or sl..Also there's also cs(cable select) mode where in the computer will automatically detect the master first hdd as master and the second one as slave..

SATA drives don't have jumper settings.

You can set master/slave in BIOS.

SOURCE: Barracuda 7200.10 (how to make it slave)

If I remember correctly then you nee to REMOVE the jumper to have it as a slave drive. Otherwise the second from left (with power plug on the right) is usually the SLAVE position on those drives

What is the jumper pin placement to make a slave of a DiamondMax Plus 9, 80GB hard drive?

The manual is linked below and section 3.3.1 covers jumper settings.
The slave setting shows the park position so you have a jumper on the drive so you can reconfigure it later.

A quick answer is that the slave setting is no jumper at all on the jumper pins.

How do i configure this hard drive for a 'slave' ?

Hello

Ok, you ill be able to see the jumper configuration on the hard drive itself. Here is an example on what the jumper diagram will look like on a hard drive.

Now, all you need to do is to have a look on your hard dive and see where you need to place the jumper for the slave configuration. Here is what a jumper looks like.

After you have done this, you only need to plug the hard drive into your pc.

Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards

How do i install a used hard drive into an eMachines T2341? The hard drive still has information on it. do i set it as master, slave, or cable select? hard drive is an IBM 10.1 gb

There are two possible solutions depending on how your desktop is setup.
#1 install the 2nd hard drive and put jumper to CABLE SELECT. When you start the computer it should now appear in the bios as a SLAVE or 2nd hard drive. If not go to #2 below
#2 Turn system off again and change jumper on 2nd hard drive to SLAVE.
Now when your computer restarts it will appear in your bios correctly as the 2nd drive/SLAVE.
Do not make it "MASTER" or you will be trying to boot up to this drive and it may not work as you planned.

FYI: "Cable Select" means the hard drive determines which one is Master and which one is Slave by where it is on the data cable.

Good Luck

I need to know how to make model WD102AA-53ANA0 a slave. I am trying to move information on this hard drive.

Generally on a WD the center two pins is where the jumper goes for master with slave present. WD drives usually have it etched in the plastic SL, MA,CS.

Master slave jumper settings on 250gb Maxline Plus II SATA

There are no master/slave settings on SATA drives because each drive has its own cable. The drive order is determined by what SATA port they are plugged into, or by the BIOS configuration.
