As you know, the door is locked while the machine is working.
The most likely cause of your problem is that the 'interlock' has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced.
The problem is to get the door open.
Try to remember which way the latch hooks into the interlock.
It may be that a flexible kitchen knife slid behind the door can release the doorlock, or a length of thin strong string passed around the door and pulled towards the hinge side will release the latch.
N.B. Be careful not to damage the seal....!
If these actions don't work it would be best to call a technician to release the interlock from the inside of the machine and replace the interlock, which can be a slightly complicated job..
Good luck.

Doors not opening even if they are unlocked

My 2009 Sebring does the same thing occasionally but only the drivers door gets stuck (dead locked - even though the locks appear to pop up).
The solution I have found once this happens is:
1) The car needs to be driven (crawl in thru the passenger door) -even just a short distance
2) Engine shut off & doors locked with remote (after you've exited from the passenger door of course)
3) Leave turned off for 10 minutes
4) Doors will now open when unlocked with the remote

2000 Grand Am SE 4-Door

This is only a possible solution to your problem. I had similar problem with my car. It turned out that the window locking toggle on the driver door not only prevented the other windows from being opened by passengers but also controlled the door locks. When I unlocked the window control I was able to unlock the door. Another possibility is the armature inside the door has come off the locking mechanism.
