I have a Parkinson Cowan strata gas oven This started to smell about a month ago only when the oven is used There is no odor when other burners are used The odor is very strong chemical or plastic burning smell please help I'm worried this my be a fire hazard or poisonous gas thanks

Sounds to me like the gas is shut off. Check the valves.

turn off all electric remove left side panel you should see element there would be 2 screws holding the element fixture and one inside oven once screws are removed then element should slide out of oven new one justs slides in to replace

You won't find them new in shops as they're no longer made. But you *might* find a NOS (New, Old Stock) Alto GM60 from an online stockist, but the manufacturer's guarantee will be worthless and some spare parts will already be difficult/impossible to obtain. You'll also need to check before purchase whether it's for natural gas, lpg, butane or propane.

All late (approx. 1990 onwards) Parkinson Cowan models had appalling build quality and frequent electronic faults, so I strongly advise that you look for a current brand.

it sounds like something may be blocking the burner tube.
if you can, remove the burner tube and use a long brush or compressed air to clean it out. if you see black soot on it be careful it can make a HUGE mess, and soot is a sign something else may be wrong.

have a parkinson cowan renown model RG60SS, about 12 years old. automatic ignition does not work - no sound or anything.. please help!!!!!
