Try to set it by an other set-up code said for your device brand, and then check. Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to get gathered related posts.

Is this a universal replacement remote or the same one that came with your DVD player? If it is the same remote, you should be able to find programming information in the DVD player's owner manual. The link to your player is below. Find the Remote programming information in chapter 6.

BATTERY SAVER
Your UR81A remote automatically "timesout"
if the keys are pressed for more than
two minutes. This will save your batteries
should your remote get stuck in a place
where the keys remain depressed (e.g.,
between the sofa cushions).
CODE SAVER (IMPORTANT)
You have up to 90 seconds to change
the batteries in your remote without losing
codes you have programmed. However,
do not press any buttons until batteries
are installed in the remote. If buttons are
pressed without batteries in the remote,
all codes will be lost.

SETTING UP THE RECEIVER
Shut down your PC. Plug the cord on the
MR26A Receiver into the serial port on
your PC. Locate the receiver as far away
from your PC and your monitor as its
cord allows. Reboot your PC (turn it on).
The red LED power indicator on the
receiver should be on.
SETTING UP THE SOFTWARE
NOTE: X10's BOOM software lets you
control an MP3 player application from
the UR81A Remote. It works with
WinAmp, RealJukeBox, MusicMatch,
Windows Media Player, etc. which you
must previously have installed. It also
controls a DVD player and CD player in
your PC.

1. Download the BOOM software from:

2. Launch the installer.
3. Follow the instructions in the installer.
After installation is complete the Boom
software automatically launches and
picture window.

4. Right- click on the BOOM window
and select applications for each of the
modes (i.e. MP3, CD, DVD). Note, if
you don't have any DVD or CD
application, leave the selection box
blank or set it to the same application
as a previous selection. i.e. in the
window below there was no DVD
player installed so it was left the same
as the Windows Media Player

5. Click the OK button to save the
choices.
You are now ready to use the remote.
To launch an application:
Press the PC button.
Then select the appropriate mode (MP3,
DVD, or CD) by pressing 1, 2, or 3. The
Media shown in the Boom window
changes to MP3, DVD, or CD,
depending on which button you pressed.

DVD recorder stuck on DVD 2 mode that means you can no longer operate it with its remote, right?
Now you need to change remote mode to DVD 2 so recorder can receive its signals.
Slide down lower cover of remote and set Command Mode switch to DVD 2 position, now your recorder will get remote signals and you can operate it properly.

There is a good chance your stuck. you may be able to use a cable satelite or even a surround sound recievers remote. most are learning remotes activated by a 3 or 4 digit code.look at your manuals for these codes and programming steps.you can also purchase this kind of remote from various retailers. however the codes are not on the outside of the packaging so make sure it will control your specific dvd player before you buy it.

You should try replacing the remote by buying a Logitech Harmony remote which you can then program to work your Xemix. It works really well for me. Alternatively if you can't get a dvd remote, try to get a TV control for a Loewe Xelos TV which has a DVD mode just for the Xemix dvd player.

usually to reset remote remove batteries and short the + and - terminals together or leave batteries out for about ten minutes this should get rid off any programmed codes.

I assume that pushing the channel up and channel down buttons does nothing. You could try unplugging it overnight and see if it's forgotten its settings come morning. But if that doesn't work, you're probably going to have to get a universal remote and program it to your TV. Quite a number of TVs (and DVD players and VCRs for that matter) no longer have a full set of controls on the TV. Some things just can't be done without the remote (a fact that really irritates me). -Dyllan
