Yes. Of course, the lens isn't an autofocus lens so you'll have to focus manually. I'm not sure what you mean by "culvert" but, if you mean that on the bottom of a submergible electric pump you plan on putting a piece of plastic pipe that will extend deeper into the well the suction end of that pump then I do say yes, you had better drill holes in this "culvert" because if that pipe bottoms out in the well you will **** debri directly into your pump.
