Question about Belling SGE12X Front Load Washer / Dryer

Access to Filter

I have the Belling SGE12x which has been having th eproblem of the programme knob simply clicking around when the cycle reaches the 'draining' time. After some research, one potetial solution is to clean the filter for outlet pipe. I have located this at the bottom right hand side on the front of the washer, however, for some reason I cannot open it.

I can give the filter cap a quarter turn anti-clockwise and water starts to leaks out but the cao will not turn any further, nor will it pull out. I have checked the manual and there is nothing in there about the filter.

Any ideas? I do not want to force the iflter cao in case I break it and cause unnecessary damage to it.

I have just had roughly the same problem - The control clicking round and round, and the drum not draining. After reading the solution already given, I emptied all the water in the drum by hand, and then the filter cap slightly open allowed me to carefully empty it in stages on to sponge cloth on top of Tesco's bag ( chipboard floor ), but then found I couldn't turn the filter cap more than 100 degrees. But rather than pull the machine out, I partially undid the two front screws, and that seemed to allow me to give it sufficient of a jiggle to release the cap - to allow me to remove a £1 coin, 5p, a screw and a curtain hook !

I had the same issue, part of a bra was **** in it! I had to remove the filter housing from the machine to remove the bloody thing! As the filter would only go round 1/4 turn. Here's what I did:

Roll the machine on to its side.
Using some large pliers/grips release the clips and remove the black hose from the drum and the grey waste hose from the filter housing.
Remove the two silver screws holding the housing to the front of the machine.
Turn the housing slightly to release.

I was then able to remove the part of the bra.
Then it is a simple case of carrying the above out in reverse order.

Hope this helps some one else.

P.S. If you can't turn the filter handle because something is blocking it don't be tempted to use any tools to turn it (or you'll end up with half a handle like me!) ;-)

I had the same problem and found that it was a penny caught up in the filter cap which extends into the machine as a sort of cage. I solved the problem by turning my machine on its side which dislodged the penny from the cage and alowed me to undo the cap. Hope this is of help. Andrew.

Fliter cap at front of machine leaks water

Remove filter, and thoroughly clean the seal and inside the filter housing.
If it still leaks, then you you are going to have to replace the filter seal if a seperate item, or the filter itself.

Belling SGE12X broken door handlw

it's not an easy job to replace a door handle, but to release it for the door to open, turn off the machine at the outlet and unplug. Take the top of the machine off and slide your hand down to the door catch. Depending which type of catch it is, you should either be able to push down a small lever on top or push up a small lever on the bottom or the door catch.

I hope this helps

Spin cycle complete; door refuses to open

check if the water has completely emptied - maybe the filter needs clearing.
otherwise. switch off mains. take top off. feel down the front of the machine to the door lock. you can usually find the peg and operate it with thumb nail but difficult
i assume you have'nt broken the door handle

My belling dishwasher wont start, the lights are on but when I press programme the red light no longer skips along the options , it simply doesnt appear.

Hi just trying to solve a similar problem. My machine would turn on but would not fill. It could be that your cold water filter is blocked. If no or reduced water pressure then the machine will not operate correctly. Take off back panel and you should see the filter assembly. GIve this a clean and see what happens.
We have 14 of these dishwashers and so far they have all proven to be very reliable machines. This is the first issue in 4 years.

Timer clicks arround and arround

My Belling integrated washing machine will not stop at the end of the cycle. My partner had accidently moved the dial during mid-cycle. We have tried to reset the machine by turning it off and then moving the dial around to the stop section of the dial. However when we turn it back on it waits for a while and then continues to click around with starting any cycle. Can anyone help? Thanks.
