Question about Panasonic Palmcorder PV-DV203 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I turn on the recorder and "dew detected eject tape" come on and then it turns off. i tried hitting it and blow drying. It's been 3 years later that i purchased it. And the same happens. What can you do to fix it. that really works. it's brand new only used it twice.
Best of the web solutions I found:
1) When you get the "Dew Detected" sign on the screen, remove the battery,
give the camera a good palm hit on the bottom where the battery sits.
Hit it a couple good times, don't go crazy just a nice hit.
Put the battery back in and voila it will work guaranteed!
I thought it was dumb at first, tried it and it works,
I didn't try the blow dryer, plastic bag trick dont work because its an electrical error, not actual dew.
2) Take the battery off without turning off the camera and voila!
3) the real problem is the connectors under the camera with the vibration they will get loose with time.
To fix this, remove the base of the camera and carefully remove the 3 of them,
clean them with alcool and put them back in place
You can put a small tape on them just to avoid the same problem happening again.

I have the same problem with my PV-DV103. Panasonic wants more to TRY and fix it than the camera cost new. MY advise can the camera and buy one without the DEW option.
Thats what I am searching for presently . If the manufacturer says the camera has a dew indicator in the circuit - buy elseware.
