Is this a single stage where you may be calling the paddles an impeller or is it a two stage model? Can you please post the model and serial. I can get you more info and maybe a video.

you can check the starter, pulll it off and check gear at the end
if teeth are missing the you have to get them off the magnets on the flywheel. they jam it there giving the indications of a set up engine. I ve seen it 2 times
no known safety- did you assemble anything? if not- return it. if you did asssemble anything- slowly go back thru in reverse and see if you have a bolt in wrong

i just purchased the poulan pro PR1030ES snow thrower, and the recoil spring is broken, anyone know of a place to buy a new one...can't even get an answer from poulan...did you ever get yours fixed
