Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Please clarify Hi , I have an assembled PC . My mother board is D850GB. I also use an SIS305 AGP Card on it. (32MB RAM, 1.5v). am not sure if it is a 2x /4x card. I had windows ME on my PC earlier . Then i formatted the Hard Drive and installed Windows 98 on it. Now, when i try to upgrade to XP, the system gets hanged when there are 34 MINUTES remaining for the installation getting completed. Can you help me out in fixing this problem ?

Hp pavilion slimline x3507c pc. when I boot up the monitor remains in standby mode. I have already determined that the problem is in the computer not the monitor. The power supply is good, the fans run,...

very simple bring a new AGP card and plug in it on your pc and plug the monitor pin in new agp now start your computer . monitor will turned on.

if the monitor is not turned on its mean your have problem in your ram or mother board for that pluged out your all rams from your pc and start your computer if cpu ring a beep its mean you have ram problem and the mother board is ok but if you cant hear any beep its mean mother board's problem ram is ok.

Need to know which mobo you want. AGP is real old tech, but hey if that's all you can afford, go for it. Look for a board with 8x agp. Then try to find an NVIDIA 7950 KOC. My brother has mine, as I moved on to pcie. With AGP, the more ram the merrier, system or otherwise. Also tons of GHZ is beneficial, since you'll be single core.

Suitable agp for playing gta 4

The AGP slot on this system is 4X

The two cards that were tested on this from Dell are
ATI 64MB Radeon VE 7500 ATI 32MB Radeon
The maximum card you can connect to the system any PCI video card not more than 128 MB. As the motherboard and the power supply would not support it

I could have swore I purchased an apg 4x video card, that's what my V2 premier,( L4S5MG3 mother board)requires. The nivdia Gforce6200 is 8x/4x will this work? Don't want to open, till sure.

8x and 4x means that the video card is an AGP ( not apg) typo i guess.

If it was PCI or PCI Express, it would say so on the box. Look at *********** board, the video card slot will usually have AGP prined next to it. Also, your old video card may have a sticker on it that says its a BLAH BLAH card with SUCH AND SUCH Megabytes of ram and thats its a AGP or PCI, PCI EXPRESS.

Once you know for sure that the card will work, open her up, install and enjoy.
