All Cob codes on this series of Minolta copiers pertain to the sorter. Most all of the time you can simply open and close the sorter to reset the code. By open and then close I mean that the sorter must be pulled away from the copier then closed back.
Make sure there is nothing interfering with the movement of the sorter bins.
If opening/closing does not reset the code or if the code comes right back after resetting then the sorter will need service as dis-assembly/repair/re-assembly will be required. You can also unplug the large connector going from the sorter to the machine and use the copier without the sorter. If you have a 10 bin sorter that "hangs" from the side of the machine then you can leave the sorter attached and it will work fine unplugged. If you have the 20 bin sorter that sits on the floor then the sorter will have to be moved away from the copier if unplugged to prevent the machine from jamming. If you unplug the sorter be sure to turn the copiers power off before disconnecting the sorter.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

All C ob numbered codes are related to the sorter. You must open/close the sorter in order to clear these codes. Opening/closing the front door on the copier itself will not clear these codes.
Once you clear the code you should be fine. If the code return immediately there is a malfunction in the sorter and it will need service. Or if you do not use the sorter it can be removed in order to at least restore the copier to working condition.

This 20 bin sorter uses an interlock switch and actuator to show that the sorter is properly attached to the machine. Pull the sorter away from the machine and look at the rear side of the copier that faces the sorter. There should be what looks like a spike mounted to the copier. That spike goes into a hole in the sorter which then actuals the switch. Make sure the spike is not broken or loose. Make sure the tray that the sorter sits on is not bent. Correct any issues with these 2 and you should be good to go.
Enter the SP mode by hitting the CLEAR MODE key, 1 0 7 then hold the CLEAR STOP key. When SP mode is selected , "1" blinks. Then enter SP 6-101-0 by hitting 6 then the . (dot) key, the 101 then the . (dot) key then the 0 key then the . (dot) key. This will tell the copier that NO sorter is intsalled. Hit the CLEAR MODE key 3 times or turn the machine off/on.
The duplexor is the area where the machine holds the paper after the first side is complete and it is waiting to start the second side of a double sided copy. This will be one of your jam clear areas, and the door may be ever so slightly ajar. it will beone of the drawers or between the machine and the sorter.
follow the small holes on the sorter trays to the bottom and top there you will find the sensors that tell the copier that ther is paper in the trays make sure that they are clean and ther is no obstruction
Hello sir; I don't think so, that not the board problem, try to push sorter unit close to the copier as tighten you can, if still not working, you have to check the switch has been actuated.
1- you've already established that the jamming is coming from the sorter, since you said they jam as they exit the copier into the sorter bin.
2- check to see if the sorter is aligned, is one side higher than the other? is it crooked? are the wheels of the sorter turning as the paper exits the copier, is it plugged into the copier? does it show "connect sorter" when detached from copier?
if not the sorter board may be bad.It may need to be aligned ( not easy if not used to doing.)
