Red light on power button is on but player still won't turn on, help please!

It started when I left my lights on and my battery died, I jumped my car and everything is fine except my stereo won't turn on. The fuse in the car is fine, the stereo's power button still lights up but nothing happens when I push it! What could be the problem? Help me please!

At most that I can share with you are generic.

If this is a fairly new car/radio model - When your battery died, the radio assumed that it was forcibly removed from the original vehicle it was installed to. For security purposes, the radio will not be usable by anybody not unless re-initialized (security unlock) by the original dealer of the car. You need to bring documents as proof of ownership, VIN information, and all others as may be required to your car dealer who would then submit them to an online support that would verify authenticity of claim and if the "numbers" match. Thereafter, a series of codes and procedures would be given to your dealer who in turn would use them to restore the JVC to operational status. There is nothing wrong with the JVC other than it will not let the user use it.

There is no known bypass to this. There is however a modification that could be done to prevent from happening again.

If the car/JVC does not employ the above described security feature, then chances are that internally, the JVC has developed a fault. Since this would require opening the unit, electronic circuitry diagnosis and possible component replacement, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified auto audio technician.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

I have the DEH-1200MP model super tuner 3 and it would not power up after battery died and was jumped. There is a fuse at the back of the stereo that I unplugged and plugged back in and then the stereo powered up. I had already checked all of the other fuses. Took me a while to figure this out.

It says its protected on the screen my battery died due to leavin the lights on!! an i dont know how to get the player to work again!!

If you jump started the vehicle and the radio was on, you may have damaged the unit. If you can remove the radio from the dash, disconnect all power and ground. Let it set for a few minutes then plug it back in. It may or may not turn on. If it still says protect, take the unit to a local car audio shop and ask if they can bench test the unit to make sure that the problem is internal, if so, the average car audio repair is between 100-125 so weigh your options to repair or replace. Hope this helps.

Car battery died, radio wont turn on anymore

Have you checked the fuse at the back of the head unit. You will need to extract the head unit from the slot. There is a small blade fuse near to where the wiring harness connects to the back of the unit. Check it to see if it has blown. It normally is a red 10amp fuse.
Also check your main fuse board.

Hope this helps
