Water leaking onto the floor

I have a two year old kenmore side by side fridge freezer which I bought in France, where I live. There is water leaking out onto the floor at the front of the fridge. I read that it might be a frozen pipe....could you tell me what to do and how I would go about defrosting the pipe, if that is the cause.

You have a condensate line plugged up. So when the defrost cycle melts the ice from the freezer coil, it drains down to the condensate pan underneath the fridge via a tube (frozen pipe). Find the pan underneath the fridge, get the pipe that ends up at the pan and blow air through it. compressed air works the best, but lung power has worked for me in the past. After the clog is passed, there should be no back pressure. If the air doesn't work. You may have an ice blockage. You can try looking for the block, or turn the unit off, and then blow air after the ice has melted.

This is your problem FredSeidell too. dlind, yours shouldn't leak unless you have an ice maker or something leaking.

Hi guys, sorry it took so long to reply, I have had some computer problems. Both of you have some sort of drainage problems extending from when the freezer defrosts. It is simply a channeling of melted ice from the freezer to the collection pan underneath. And it is almost always solved with the tedious job of following the drain path and finding the blockage or leak. On the problem with dlind, it is possible you have an old fridge with no defrost system, or it is not working. causing ice to build up anyway.

Water Leaking - Freezer

My mother's fridge had a leak on the freezer side in the front. I removed the cover below the doors and found a plastic coupling in the water line to the water in the door option, when anyone filled their glass with water the coupling leaked. I bought a new plastice 1/4 inch coupling and replaced the old one and the problem was solved. The coupling costs about $3.00 a Lowe's and it took about 2 min. to change.

Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Water gushed out freezer door, possible solenoid problem?

The drain is clogged. The drain is usually located inside the freezer on the bottom shelf to the rear. Use a meat baster and a solution of 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 cups of hot water-not boiling to unclog the drain. You probably also have about 1/2 inch of ice build-up on the bottom shelf. This will have to be removed first.
