SONY A350 when turned on and off makes loud vibrating sound

The vibration seems to be coming from the lens area but not certain. I was trying to take photos at night and I kept holding the shutter button down and It would not take. Then when I tried to turn the camera off It made the loud buzzing/vibrating sound. I recharged my battery just to see if that was the problem but it isnt. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Heather

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. The vibrating sound happens when the camera is turned-on or off. It looks like the camera is auto-deploying the anti-dust functionality and the vibration tries to shake-off the dust on the sensor. But I tried cleaning up the insides.. no luck. Would appreciate any tips on resolving this issue.. thanks, KP

    Hi,
I know this problem very good. After turn on camera wants to clean chip with anti dust technology.
Probably your chip lost connection with stabilization mechanism - more infohttp://seinsider.com/?p=790
Only one solution is complaint or service....

It very well could be the strut.
smaller chance could be the CV axle.
Also have the splash guards/heat shields checked to make sure they are all tight in place.

Sony cyber-shot T90 is making noise and vibrating

The only motorized part I am aware of is the lens focusing mechanism. If it's making a noise loud enough to be heard and vibrating, it is most likely defective. I suggest sending it back to Sony for service if it is still under warranty.

Sony 18-70 kit lens vibrates badly

This is a lens problem, the AF motor of the lens is trying to engage the gears. Sometime it works, sometimes it does not... It happened to my sigma 70-300. The only solution is to have it repaired. If under warranty it should be free, if not.... might be cheaper to buy a new lens.

There is a strange sound coming from my camera and vibrations

Hi there.
It sounds like the lens is having difficulty moving into position, cover the lens with your thumb and spray a little WD-40 around the affected area.
With the camera card, take it out, clean the contacts and blow down the slot to remove any dust that may have built up.
Make sure the camera is turned off while you spray it.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
