I set the headset to be the default audio device for the computer. I can use Skype fine and can hear iHeart Radio. However, I can't hear my Camtasia recording and don't even know if the microphone is working with it. I also can't hear the Camtasia tutorials or videos on YouTube.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm using the trial version and want to make sure I can use the program before I buy it. by Video Recording Mobiles Video Recording Mobiles Tablets
If you haven't already done so, then you need to purchase the camera for that TV. This does not come with the set. Once you have the camera hooked up and your Network set up. Push your viera cast utton on the remote and locate the skype i con in the menu
I haven't set up Skype before, but it seems quite reasonable that if the Sound control panel is set to use the external microphone, that would work. Have you checked to see if the sound input is set to an internal microphone built into the laptop, or a line-level input? That could be your problem, especially if no such microphone is present.
You have several options. You can install some type of instant messaging application such as Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Skype, etc. You can make a video using YouTube or Usteam.
When you play a video on youtube. If you do not hear any sound then look at the bottom left on the lower boundary of the Video you will see a speaker icon. Make sure that this sign is not displayed with a cross and that the sound indicator shows enough volume so that can be heard.
Video chat (Yahoo, Live, Skype) can function as low as 760kbps, but of course higher bandwidth will give better video quality.
Youtube can work on speeds as low as dialup rates, but it will take longer to buffer enough video to begin playback, so faster speeds will mean faster starts to your video streams.
You shouldn't be trying to do both (skype chat and stream video from YouTube) at the same time and expect the videos to go smoothly. It won't hurt anything, but it won't be good video quality.
