Question about Panasonic CT-27SL13 27" TV
Can you hear any slight ticking noise following he click? It's one of two probabilities, either the HOT or the FBT - - The horizontal output transistor in that unit is a common failure. It uses a 2sc5902, which you can sub to a 2sd2539 or an NTE2353, either will work as well if not better than the original. And it only takes a shop a very short time to do a continuity test acress the E&B (emitter and base pins) on the HOT to determine if it's shorted.
When the HOT shorts the shutdown circuit will pulse, causing a very faint ticking sound, cycling in it's attempt to power the unit.
If you're going to have a shop do call around and ask what they charge to replace the HOT like you know what you're doing...
Let me know how it turns out..
