Most likely needs to be torn apart, the cooling fins on the engine need to be cleaned regularly, also you have carbon build up inside muffler, there is a screen inside muffler, if not clean, you will eventually get a scored piston and cylinder wall, then you will need much more to fix the issue, also make sure you are using the correct ngk plug
I really don't want to be "that guy", but people who aren't trained STIHL mechanics or at LEAST mechanically trained, shouldn't work on higher end saws like STIHL, because people with a little bit of experience can mess something up, then blame the machine because they mess something up and start trashing the brand when it's their fault for not knowing what they're doing.

Alot of chainsaws have a dial most of the time on the bottom of the saw. Using a flat head will do the job... there should be a little indented drawing of a chain and oil drop where the dial is
Not really, but if you've had the issue, maybe the vent tube is allowing gas to be dripped into the carbuetor compartment behind the filter. Sometimes, when held horizontally, they will leak a bit out and older saws sometimes have the vent line to deteriorate from the alcohol in todays fuels causing a few drops of gas to escape. I've worn out two 041 Farm Boss saws and never a problem other than normal maintenance.
The filter could be stuffed with sawdust, but depending on the model of saw, the problem could also be the oil pump drive system.
First of all though, empty out the chain oil and then part fill the chain oil tank with petrol, replace the cap and with the saw switched off, shake the saw violently for 10 secs. Remove the cap and empty out the tank and then refill with chain oil and try out the saw, revving it and check if any oil is flowing onto the chain.
If that has not solved the problem, let me know what the model of the saw is, Farm Boss is not enough, it could be an 038 an 041 and a few more as the farm boss name is used as well as the number.
We can then check a few other points which could be causing the problem.
