Question about Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver
Ok, i've tried everthing to fix my problem including resetting my device, deleting and setting up the bluetooth config, also downloading and installing the FileBlueTooth.zip file to no avail.
Here is my problem: It was all working 2 days after i brought it and configured it. Could see all my contacts, txt messages and other stuff, make calls through the gps to my mobile (Sony Ericsson W850i)
How, when I start the phone and the 660 it detects and connects, I can see my txts and contacts on the 660 via bluetooth to my mobile, but the Bluetooth disconnects after 10secs on the 660. When I enable bluetooth on the 660 it just sits there with the message Enabling Bluetooth.
I've updated the software from Garmin including the Bluetooth patch...
Note: This is for a 550c Street pilot
1) Turn on unit
2) Press VIEW MAP
3) Press SPEED in lower left hand side of map
4) This will bring you to the Trip meter screen on this screen press the round speedometer at the top of the screen for about 10 seconds this will bring you to the SYSTEM BIOS.
5) From this point forward be careful you can mess up your unit by changing the wrong thing.
6) Press NEXT until you come to the BLUETOOTH STATUS screen.
7) Now press UPDT P this should complete your update.

Re: Garmin StreetPilot c550. I received the "Updating Bluetooth Firmware" message out of the blue after ~ 8 months of normal operation. The status did not change after ~7 hrs in this mode. On the c550 there's a small fingernail recess at the top of the frame around the display, just under the "Garmin" logo; removing the frame carefully reveals a "Press to reset" tab on the right side of the display. Pressing this allowed the "Updating Bluetooth Firmware" procedure to complete. Press the frame back into place. Normal operation resumed (so far...).

I have a nubi660, and the bluetooth does not work. When trying to enable bluetooth - the screen freezes?
Any advice please?

Connect nuvi via usb. Go to sw folder. Throw away the files. Then go to web updater. It will find the additional files and than reupdate.

Problem fixed (Thanks to a fantastic support dealer Brian @ (GPSOZ.com.au)
Download latest BT (version 3) with web updater
Connect NUVI to PC, go to dos prompt, change to drive letter of internal GPS , type in chkdsk /f (say N to convert lost links to files), go to maintenance mode, clear user data (ie favourites and phonebooks), go to bluetooh page in maintenance mode, reload BT, restart system, works great for me

Solution 5 above is awesome!!! It completely fixed my problem, as my Garmin 360 started dropping its Bluetooth connection every 5 seconds, after having no problems with the same phone for a year or more. Following the steps in Solution 5 and re-pairing did the trick. And this is after I got a $ 180 ticket for driving without hands free because my Garmin was dropping Bluetooth. Thank you!

I had the same problem with my Nuvi 260. I connected the GPS to my computer and ran the web updater and selected the bluetooth update and after restarting it worked again.
All is well again. haha
