Will not recognize loaded paper, keeps saying no

Will not recognize loaded paper, keeps saying there is no paper loaded when there is obviously paper in it. Printed one page, said paper jam, took the paper out and set it back in. Now printer is saying no paper in printer.

There 's a torn piece of paper blocking the paper level sensor. Re check all areas where the paper feeds. the try re insert the paper, if its clear . turn printer off for 5 mins then turn on and try again

Mfc 7860dw will not print from paper tray

Check the paper level in tray 1 and keep the paper within the levels indicated by the arrows on the side. I had this same problem, and although the paper tray accommodates the extra paper, the printer obviously does not like it and defaults to the manual feed.

Printer says out of paper. paper added still wont print

The solution to this is bizarre but worked for me.
In Vista press the windows key and R button. The Run window opens and in the run window type services.msc and then press Enter.
2. Locate Print spooler from the Services window which opened in the previous step.
3. Right click on it and select Restart.

Your printer will print a self-test page but then should be good to go.

Sensor

Hi, More than likely it could be the paper sensor !!! It recognizes the tray has paper and when the tray is loaded with paper. My suggestion for any dell printers are to take them to your local dump and get rid of it. The only reason I say this is because dell makes these printers where the parts are impossible to get and when you can find them your better off buying a new one!! I know it's frustrating but my suggestion is to try Hp or a diffrent MFG!! Good Luck! Thanks
