I use a security code on my BB Curve 8330. I tried to sync media files today through desktop USB interface (win XP) and was prompted to enter a password. I used by my security code and BB account password, neither worked. I disconnected the USB cable and now am unable to unlock the device through the keypad. Twice I have re-set the device (removed battery), and we prompted to enter the word "blackberry" which I did. When prompted to unlock the device, I try entering my code, but instead of the usual display of **** characters (typical when typing a password), I see on screen the characters I'm entering. I use a 4 digit number for my unlock code, but when I key it in I see the corresponding QWERTY value (e.g. type "2" see "e" on screen)
I now have 9 failed attempts out of 10, and don't want to lose my data. How can I get this think unlocked?
I had the same problem a while ago you need to set the "key stores" password you do this by going to options select security the select key stores and when your in there hit the blackberry button on your keypad and then select "change password" then enter your password you want then you should be good to go next time you connect your phone to your computer because you just enter that password you did there on the computer and then you're all done!
