No matter what size memory I install, it only recognizes 1/2 of it. What am I dolin wrong? Thanx, Tom the Elder

try booting up one memory at the time
-memory 1 to memory slot 1 boot computer see if it will work. -memory 1 to memory slot 2 boot computer see if it will work.
-memory 2 to memory slot 1 boot computer see if it will work. -memory 2 to memory slot 2 boot computer see if it will work.
the reason for doing this is to make sure w/c one is defective if it is the memory slot or the memory it self, you can also check the manual to see what the maximum memory the motherboard can have.

Dual channel Mode willnot work over 2 gb's of

Hi, please read page 12, section 2.3 in your manual. Dual channel memory must be connected per manual specs.
(Correct colored DIMM slots)
Link to Asrock manual;
Main web site provided by Asrock;

Once the memory is installed into the correct colored DIMM slots your system should see up to just under 4GB if 4GB is installed while using windows XP. (Refer to Asrock's web site).

Hope you find this helpful and working.

MEMORY UPGRADE FROM DDR 256Mb to DDR2 1GB hangs when Log on/Booting

Its a memory problem obviously. Try dusting the memory slot and try inserting the memory into the slot a couple of times. If still not working, the memory may be incompatible(rarely, there are brands of boards that doesn't suit to certain brands of memory), or it may be damaged.

Radeon graphics card and 3rd RAM slot conflict

I thought this board looked familiar to me. I recall some rules for the memory cards. Do all your memory cards meet this requirement:

Supports up to 3GB PC1600/2100/2700/3200* DDR SDRAMs

If you are using DDR 400 you can only use 1 slot.

What kind of memory are you using?

Memory / ps/2 problems

If it boots then you would get the bios check then windows boots up, if your's not getting a picture then it may be only getting as far as the bios then stopping, it sounds as if the memory may be the stumbling block as if i remember the board is new, unless this is a faulty unit as the ps2 port should work i think there is a stress break on the motherboard somewhere.
