What do I do when I have invalid battery message on my motorola flip phone? I tried a new battery and go the unable to charge message. What can I do?

My tracfone would do that also. Then I would turn it off and turn it back on and it would disappear. Try to do that and see if it helps.

You should confirm that any battery you purchase has a "Motorola Original" hologram.
If you see a message on your display such as Invalid Battery or Unable to Charge,
take the following steps:
• Remove the battery and inspect it to confirm that it has a "Motorola Original" hologram;
• If there is no hologram, the battery is not a Motorola battery;
• If there is a hologram, replace the battery and try charging it again;
• If the message remains, contact a Motorola authorized service center.

I am not familiar with the TracFone V170 but most phones now communicate with the battery. They do this because the battery contains a small computer chip which monitors the charge state, temperature etc.. If this chip is faulty or missing because it is a cheap copy battery, some phones will not work properly. They usually power up okay but will not charge or will charge really slowly. There are various messages they may give including "alien battery", "Invalid Battery" to name a few. If it is unable to communicate with the battery, it will not usually charge as fast as it could because it cannot tell if the battery is overheating so it will always trickle charge an unknown battery.

You will notice a battery like this because it has at least three battery connections. Older ones only had two.

cleen the charging tips & battery connector carefully,some times the moisture placed on it after cleaning try to switch on.if the problem not gone.than u have 2 choice 1-buy a new battery and test it and go to the phone repair shop who take some general cheking on it.

you better change the battery and dont recharge too. charge daily per hour

i dont know much about cell phones, but im gonna say that maybe you should try and get a new battery for it and see if that works

i tried changing my battery and it worked..if not you can always have it reprogrammed

"unable to charge", "insert sim". is your phone been dropped or got wet? if unable to charge, when using a wall charger, try different outlets. if using onl one charger, tr different chargers. if it won't work, try other compatible batteries if you would get a charging message. if does not work, have your phone checked with a service center
