Will a battery voltage OEM variance affect my laptop? Replacing old laptop battery: OEM L11M6Y01 10.8v. After market choices leave me dubious since replacement models are 11.1v. I expect better performance from next gen, as long as it isn't damaging.

Sorry to let your exceptions down but the performance will be the same. The voltage difference is either battery chemistry or speckemship. It should work if it fits.

Any other opinions on this matter would be appreciated. OEM seems the best bet for reliability and these after-market batteries have a terrible reputation. Where can I get laptop OEM batteries?

Wondering if the Motorola 4550 has a range of voltage it can tolerate. rather than just 12v

electronic voltage has a 10% variance allowable before performance and components are affected so 10% of 12 =13.2 ( 14 volts or10.8 volts --10 volts)
unless you use a transformer or the correct resistance in the power lead to drop the power supply to 12 volts ,24 volts will cause a lot of problems

Gateway mx 8710 .plugged in no charge has new battery

There are 2 possibilities:
1. The internal charger does not work,
2. You received a defective battery (some after market batteries are very poor quality batteries).

Lenovo idea flexpad 20

1. Check for a bad battery. This is the most common problem for mobile devices like tablets, laptops and the like. Since the battery must be fully functional (at OEM specified outputs for volatage and current) for the device to operate (manuf. designed it that way to protect the circuits years ago), it is the most likley culprit. (FYI: I have two Lenovo laptops - one under the old IBM Thinkpad label and one newer Chinese Lenovo).
* Replace the battery with a new OEM replacement as I do not recommend after-market generics or refurbished)
2. Try a different power supply. Check the OUTPUT requirements on your existing power adapter (usually 5v) and locate a another adapter to see if it is the AC adapter. The only real issue you need to worry about is the OUTPUT voltage must match the original adapter to avoid damage. The current does not matter since the device determines how much current in mAH it requires so just concern yourself with the right OUTPUT VOLTAGE and the jack plug makes a proper fit. If a spare adapter is not available (Radio Shack sells a variable voltage adapter with a variety of interface plugs and they work very well for these issues) then try using the Lenovo adapter on another device. (I am assuming you do not have electronics tools or test bench and need to troubleshoot the old school way)
* Replace the dead adapter ensuring that the VOLTs are the same on OUTPUT as the original and the interface plugjack is the same size.

If, after doing the above two simple steps, consider that the MB (mainboard - motherboard) power supply is toast and the laptop is good for recycling only

Help---How do I identify my battery?

This appears not to be an OEM (HP/Compaq) battery. These are not reliable in my experience ESPECIALLY if they are originally manufactured in China from old recycled batteries with a NEW case.
Such unlabelled batteries rarely last more than a few months. It would be better buying a guaranteed compaq battery from an eBay which is second hand but holds say 1.5 hours of charge. It will cost much less than a new OEM battery if you hunt around and you have the protection from paypal/ebay of reimbursement if anything goes wrong.
10.8 volts is correct for a cq71 and the shape is correct. When you charge it up, run the laptop on battery only and complain if it lasts less than 2 hours. Good Luck

My screen wont power up

Hello

Remove the computer from external power source and then remove the battery and leave the battery out for at least half an hour, this discharges all sorts of residual voltage in the system's capacitors

leave it out for one hour and replace the battery. After replacing the battery the computer should start without a problem. I hope this helps.

and it does it becuse it is getting a voltage variance from some of the faulty components it has. This is a fail safe to protect the set from catching fire and doing more damage to other as yet non affected components. DIY is not recommended.

What battery specs should I look for for a 1990 Chevrolet Celebrity?

no better batteries are made than the factory original battery from tjhe dealer, the OEM battery is my 1st choice always, Delco batteries are rated among the highest reliability on the market and the price is competitive with all other long life batteries out there, many times they last up to 10 years, this advice is based on 35 years as a dealer technician

Which years handlebars will fit onto a 2002 Speed Triple?

Any 22mm (7/8") handlebars will fit your Speed Triple - these can be OEM or after-market - lots of options to choose from with different bends to suit your personal comfort.
Renthal & Rizoma are popular after-market choices, replicating the OEM 'bend' quite closely.

I have major probs with both my laptops...

Hi
I think your problem is with the battery ac/power voltage.
Make sure of the right voltage for your Laptops is selected on the Ac/power device you are using.
In other simple words, the high voltage causes the laptop to cut off as yours, and the soloution is that you try adjusting the voltage into a lower voltage.
I hope this works!
