We have a new MacBook Pro. We have had no problem printing documents with our HP Deskjet 1055. However, it will not scan a document to our computer. What could be wrong? This printer scanned just fine with our older computer. Ugh!

If you use HP Software to operate the scanning from the deskjet then you can set the scan settings to compile a number of document pages into one file.

Best to download the full set of software for your printer from this site and let it install. Sometimes older version may not have the new features you need.

You cant use the document feeder because the manuals are bound but if you save them as pictures and put them in powerpoint you can make them a pdf

In the print menu (Command P), there is a drop-down menu toward the bottom of the screen.
One of the options is Quality & Media. Under this option, make sure that greyscale is not selected.

There is an OCR reader in the programs included with the install disk. This OCR will break down your entire document for editing. If you don't have the disk, it very simple to get all the software from the site.

I have not had my printer hooked up to my lap top. I tried to hook it up to my Windows Vista, and it will not print anything, it has the documents in the print que, but won't print.

try to scan the document from the printer panel ..
