Question about Washing Machines
10 year old washing machine is leaking from center of the outer tub near the bearing and seal during agitating and spin cycles.
I took off the front panel and watched it run through a small load. I am assuming it needs the tub seals replaced and it appears to be something I would not want to, or have the time or tools, to do. I am wondering at this point if I should just replace it. It seems such a shame to throw the rest of it away. Does some one have a guestimate of what it would cost to repair?
The cost will depend on what part of the country you live in and what repair service you use. I would suggest you call some local services and get estimates. I work in the mid-south area for a nation wide service company. The cost for us to do this job is $300+.
I have run into several that could not be taken apart due to years of detergent buildup causing the seal nut to seize to the transmission housing..
Hope this helps.
