Problem for Sony Handycam DCR-HC30 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Black LCD and view finder
My camera (CDR HC30) LCD and view finder are black while I am recording. Only I can record the sound but no movi. The LCD and view finder are working if I play a recorded tape.

- I bought my camera from Best buy in Virginia, USA about an year ago while I was visiting USA. I am back and living in Kabul, Afghanistan. We don't have any Sony service provider in Afghanistan. What should I do? It this possible to send me the sensor and I or a camera mechanic change it for me?Dec 09, 2007
- Thanks for the info. If i replace the CCD image sensor, will that solve the problem of the blank LCD/view finder for few years and again I need to replace it or that is it? thanksSame Problem

you need to go to the service center for replacing the
ccd image sensor...i know it is free for replacing that image sensor cause your camera is one of the recall product due to the production error of the image sensor...log on to the sony site and go the costumer service ...

- i also said that nothing you can do to your camera cause your camera problem is THE CCD IMAGE SENSOR AND IT IS FREE FOR REPLACING THAT AT THE SONY SERVICE CENTER CAUSE OF PRODUCTION ERROR OF THE SENSOR NOT ONLY IN SONY PRODUCT ALSO IN THE CANON,JVC,SAMSUNG CAUSE THEIR IMAGE SENSOR MANUFACTURER IS ONLY ONE THATS WHY THE COMPANY RECALL THE BATCH OF THE MANUFACTURED SENSOR FROM 2002-2004 THY WHY IT IS FREE OF CHARGE FOR REPLACING THAT..THANKS FOR YOUR RATING...:-(Dec 09, 2007
