Question about New Home 104D Mechanical Sewing Machine
Hi tony hope u can help .. the timing or something is off on my machine ..at first the needle was jamming against lower looper I replaced needle didn't help then I moved the lower looper forward by loosening clamp, didn't hit needle any more but now does not sew at all ...can u help!!
I had to fix my machine last night because the looper was not grabbing the thread. We advanced the belt that turns the shaft (which connects to the looping mechanism) by one tooth and it solved the problem. We actually advanced it two (accidentally) the first time and the needle was catching on the bottom. Basically, the timing was off... the needle shaft was raising before the looper had time to grab the thread.
Not sure if yours is the same situation, but might be worth a look at the timing.
(My machine is a New Home My Excel 23L if that matters)
