SOURCE: Delonghi EC 155 general help

You don't have to wait 15 mins. just a few minutes, then run some hot water to warm up the portafilter and dry it up, fill it up with coffee and when you get the gree light again, make your espresso . You will have to have a good fine coffee and make sure to pack the coffee really good and don't leave any around the edges , so could make a good seal. If you have steam coming out of the machine , is maybe to hot and is ready to brew . Cool down the machine after use, run water through it and let the steam out of the nozzle.

I had this problem too. The instruction manual says to turn the steam knob only half way counter-clockwise after pressing the button for 5 seconds, but you need to turn it ALL the way to have the procedure start (at least, that was the solution with my machine). Good luck!

SOURCE: delonghi coffe maker leaks water from bottom

The problem is that the heated water is leaking out of the drip chamber. This is caused by the fact that they were to cheap to use stainless steel screws that hold the chamber top to the bottom. The screws have rusted and the hot water can escape the drip area and runs down next to a plastic tube that delivers the hot water to the top of the coffee maker from the heating element. To repair you have to remove two screws that are on the underside of the hot water drip area above the coffee filter. Then there are 3 tabs that have to be released and separate the cover that has the strength control from its base. When you pop off this cover, you will see the remains of 4 screws that are badly rusted. I used a small ez-out and drill to remove the remains. Be very careful to not drill the pilot hole through the top. I got lucky and was able to remove the screws and replaced them with stainless steel. An alternate method would be to use a food grade 100% silicon adhesive and glue the to back together. This method may leak in the future, so try to get the old screws out first.

I would recommend a MR coffee $30 to $50 models, on sale, for coffee before I would ever buy this European designed junk. I took this thing apart and just shook my head and said that you can tell things that aren

How to remove handle or shank from

just pull the handle from right to left, if is tight just hit gently from right side of the handle. to detache the filter if it is stuck just put the handle under hot flush water and gently try to turn it until it comes out.( there are two inserting tips that match with the handle) if it is very stuck, usually because of the coffe that "glue the filter to the handle body try to pull the filter gently off the handle body using a no-sharp tool ( spoon handle tip for example)

Rancilio Silvia Espresso water flows too quickly about 7 seconds

  1. check the coffe filter>> it could be teard up and leaking(check it carefuly it is hard to see sometimes)
  2. check the pressure you get from group. 7 - 9 bar pressure you should get to handle. if it is biger than check by pas valve and adjust the pressure, also check up boiler security valve(security valve for water for coffee)
