Question about iLO 3200 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

HD problem O riginal remote is broken. I now have cable and have a universal remote which actually works, however when I turn to a channel that is in HD it gives me a message that I am unable to view in HD. The original remote had a button on the top right that would switch the tv over to HD but I am unable to find a button on the universal remote. Is there something I can do in the menu? Or another solution?

I have been trying to find remote codes for my parents new Motorola DTA100/2305/000 digital converter box so that I can connect everything for them on a universal remote. Any help would be greatly...

I'm also interested in remote codes for this equipment. My sense is that many (most?) remotes can't operate cable/dish/directv boxes because the boxes are proprietary, and the cable/satellite companies would rather you use their remotes as a "universal" rather than make the technology available in open source. But that's just a guess.

I'm actually looking for the specific remote for my unit, as some of the channels don't seem to be "set up". I have a Comcast remote (for another box, though it's "universal" type) that has some functionality, but I can't access any menus. The reduced channel options may be a result of limitations of Comcast, though, rather than the box.

TV doesn't turn on

I have a Mintek DTV265 which is almost the same TV the red light don't blink it stays on as long as the Power button is on. Try turning on the TV by pressing any of the buttons on the side of the TV Channel up or down, Volume up or down , or source. If it comes on then your TV is alright. I had one of them jumbo universal remote controls and it actually had a code that worked on my TV.

Older person cannot handle two remotes

You can program most satelite remotes to work on any device. Most are universal. If not, I suggest purchasing a universal remote. You can view remote codes online to program your device to your remote. New ones come with instrucions and codes.

Remote stopped working

You can look at the IR beam coming from a remote control using electronic cameras, like camcorders or webcams, if you want to see whether the remote is actually working. It doesn't sound like the remote is your problem. But it is probably your TV. IR receivers don't go out too often, but it can happen. You can try holding the remote directly in front of the receiver.

Connection for hd.

That depends on what your HD source is: cable, antenna, satellite,DVD....please be specific about what you're trying to hook up to your TV.
Remotes don't "die" because the battery died. If you've put in new batteries and it doesn't control your Olevia TV, then the remote is likely broken. Again, be SPECIFIC. What remote are you talking about? The original Olevia remote? A universal remote?

Picture is fuzzy

Do you have a HIGH DEFINITION satellite / cable SERVICE? Unless you are specifically set up to receive HD - your picture will still be back around 400 lines - and both LCD and Plasma HD units are notorious for looking WORSE when viewing NON-HD PROGRAMMING.

Unless your DVD is capable up converting up to (pseudo) HD, don't expect much there either.

Not sure how the INSIGNIA is set up for inputs, but good old Wal*Mart sells a FANTASTIC UNIVERSAL REMOTE called AVEX that is an absolute JOY to program and work with - and it's only about $20!

Put a DVD in your player and turn it on and let it play. I doubt that you are actually looking for a "CHANNEL" - but instead an *input* that is electronically controlled by your tv.

Go to the "TV" position on your remote and find the "INPUT" button. Pressing it should bring up a menu of different inputs that your tv has. Use your center UP/DOWN button to switch inputs until you see your DVD playing through one of them.

My Sharp Aquos TV has stopped responding to remote control(s)

Unplugging my TV for 15 seconds (longer actually - at least a minute) made the remote and the satellite TV remote both work again with the TV.  Thanks for the tip!
