    Hello and thank you. When I connect to an external monitor everything looks fine. I do not know if the parallel connector is part of the video card. Someone told me that I need a new mother board since the video card is attached to it.

    It will not be the motherboard as an external monitor works. Replace the display/invertor.

Sounds like you have some hardcore malware. You might need to do a system reformat. When you turn on your laptop if you turn on your computer and all you see is this, the hardware could be damaged which would be an odd case. But I'll stick with my first thought. You need that cleaned up.

normally a oblong cover with 2 screws

If you are using vista:

-Right click on your desktop then choose personalize
-Then click screensaver
-On bottom click on "change power settings..."
- On the left click on "choose when to turn off the display"

Your monitor can turn off without your computer being in sleep mode.

When reinstalling OS on toshiba satellite a105 it blue screens

most probably its a bad disk...try another one...

if it still repeats then note down the error number (every blue screen has one) and then post back with it.
