I have a Mieli DA2210 rangehood, just out of warranty. Fan is working as normal but the lights will not switch off.

Take the light switch out and clean it with CRC electric parts cleaner. Reinstall and hope for the best.

If you're able to remove the switch for cleaning - I suggest that you simply match it to those offered at home centers, hardware stores, etc. for replacement. A can of CRC Contact Cleaner will likely cost more than a replacement switch - and a replacement switch is guaranteed to work. Good luck!

Why does Smeg rangehood draw current when off?

Yes it’s normal. There’s other electrical devices such as lights or controller/ control board that although the fan isn’t running these remain powered.

HI, My light switch on the rangehood is flashing when it is turned off. Everything works fine, the lights go, the fan works etc, but when I turn the light off, the button flashes.

Neon lamps are known for flashing if they are getting to the end of their life but not sure why it would come on when things are off

How to install a new joystick in the miele cooker hood

Destall the unit. Unplug it from the power then just undo the screws on the side. A bracket with the switch mechanism will come out and just fit the new switch to that. They had iffy switches and often replaced under warranty. Miele is always improving it's parts so any replacement parts do not have the same issue.

Omega Rangehood not working.

Hello,

One night, my (Omega) range hood also blew with a snap, crackle and pop (flash) also after pressing the light button.

The PCB is charred behind the light switch/toggle thingy.

The PCB is a replaceable part, but out of interest I am curious to learn if I can piggyback the light onto the fan switch.

"Anonymous", at first I thought I may have authored what turned out to be your post.

Many thanks.

Baumatic rangehood bah9005 the switch pushes in and the lights dont work , motor works when electrical switch at wall is on

Thank you for using FixYa. It sounds like there is obviously power getting to the rangehood ( the motor works) and I would suspect that it is just the bulbs that have blown.

The lights on the under side of the rangehood do not work .i have replace the bulbs ,the exhaust fan works ,is their a re set switch

could be a blown transformer to supply the correct power to the lights or a loose connection on the light holders.

Fan Not Working

Sounds like a motor problem...but not necessarily. Cut power to the unit. Expose the motor assembly. Turn the fan by hand...if it is jammed or hard to turn...replace that motor. Not that? There is likely a motor connector. Get a test light at the hardware store. Disconnect the motor and then probe the wires coming to the connector from the power side (with the power on again) to see if the tester glows. Yes...bad motor. No, find the bad connection. It is possible that this unit uses a multi switch...if that's the case, there will be three wires coming out of it...One is power in...the others go to the light and the fan. Then, the switch will be the culprit. Hope this helps.

Broan allure fan and light

Check that you have not accidentaly switched the wall socket off in the cupboard above the rangehood. The slide switch could also be faulty.
