How to replace the antenna booster on 2007 Toyota Yaris hatchback

Remove the antenna mast from the antenna base. Grasp the antenna mast near its base and twist it counterclockwise to remove it from the base.
Remove the antenna base cover. You can use a flathead screwdriver or a plastic trim removal tool to gently pry the cover off.
Disconnect the antenna cable from the booster. There will be a connector attached to the booster. Gently unplug it to disconnect the cable.
Remove the old booster. It is usually held in place by a mounting screw or adhesive. If there is a screw, use a screwdriver to remove it. If there is adhesive, carefully pry the booster off with a flathead screwdriver.
Clean the mounting surface. If there was adhesive holding the old booster, use a cloth and some rubbing alcohol to clean the surface where the new booster will be attached.
Install the new booster. If it comes with a mounting screw, align the booster and screw it in place. If it comes with adhesive, remove the backing and carefully attach it to the cleaned surface.
Reconnect the antenna cable to the new booster.
Reinstall the antenna base cover.
Reattach the antenna mast to the antenna base by twisting it clockwise.

Fix A Honda Accord Antenna

Anyone that has owned an older Honda Accord (1990-1998 or so) has probably had a problem with their radio antenna. My problem was actually there when I bought the car. Whenever I would turn the car off the antenna would retract and when it was all the way in it would make this horrible grinding/clicking noise. Eventually it stopped working all together. As I was looking into this problem I found out that it was a very common problem, but one that had a very easy solution. I would say that almost anyone could preform this antenna fix. If you are having the same problems here is how to fix it: 
1) Get a replacement antenna mast. You can find them on Ebay for around $15.

2) Remove the old mast by taking off the chrome nut that hold the antenna onto your fender. You might need a small hammer and a punch to get it off. It should be fairly tight. 
3) Pull out the old mast. You have to give it a good tug as the end is in there tight. Check to see if it is all there. If some of it is still stuck in the antenna motor you might need to take it apart to get it all out. 
4) Turn the radio on then put the new mast into the hole for the antenna with the teeth facing the rear of the car. Push it as far as it will stopping when it won't go in anymore. You don't want to force it. 
5) Have a friend turn off the antenna while you guide the new mast in. If it doesn't go quite in all the way that is fine, it will eventually. 
6) Re-install the holding nut. 
That's all it takes. You can now enjoy your radio again!

How do you replace radio antanna

What kind of car is it? If it is a fixed antenna you just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. If it is an automatic antenna, you can buy either the motor or the mast. Assuming you just need to replace the mast, it comes with the plastic piece with the teeth on it. You need to remove the old broken plastic piece from the antenna motor. You might need to disassemble the antenna motor from the car to get enough of the plastic to grab onto with pliers. While you are pulling on it have someone turn on the radio to activate the antenna up motion and pull the old plastic piece completely out. With the old plastic runner out, the motor installed on the car, and the radio on, run the new plastic runner first through the doughnut screw that holds the mast to the car. Then cram the new plastic runner as far as you can into the hole that leads to the antenna motor. Then hold the very end of the mast (the tip), align the base to the opening as best you can and have someone turn off the radio to activate the down antenna motion. It goes quick so don't have your fingers where they can get pinched as the motor sucks in the plastic and the mast down into the hole. With the mast retracted, tighten the doughnut screw to that the mast won't flop out when you turn the radio back on.

Power antennas require two people to replace. watch old mast as radio is turned on and off, then remove retainer nut and parts turn on and assist old mast out watching the teeth on plastic cable. fully extend new mast and lubricate with machine oil 3 and 1 works great feed new mask trying start teeth then turn radio off feeding into motor assembly install retainer parts and work antenna several time the overrun clutch will make final setting.

This is normally due to a broken antenna mast inside the motor, the mast /cable assembly should be replaced, the antenna motor has to be removed from the car and disassembled to remove the broken piece of the old cable, once that is accomplished the antenna motor is reinstalled and the new cable assembly is fed into the motor by turning the radio on until the motor stops and then turning the radio off while feeding the new mast in.

Step 2 Using the wrench or needle-nose pliers, loosen and remove the original retaining nut on the base of the antenna mast.
Step 3 Gain access to the underside of the area where the antenna is located.
Step 4 Remove the bracket or brace that is below the hole and holding the antenna in place.
Step 5 Remove the mast.
Step 6 Find the motor that controls the antenna mast. Generally, power antennas will have a constant 12-volt lead and a ground lead. The ground lead will be grounded to the panel next to the motor.
Step 7 Remove the ground lead from the panel.
Step 8 Pull out the antenna coaxial cable.
Step 9 Unplug the coaxial from the extension coaxial cable.
Step 10 Remove the original antenna coaxial cable. Note the route the cable follows.
Installing the New Power Antenna
Step 1 Inspect the fender area where the antenna mast will be mounted for rust.
Step 2 Clean the area before installing the new antenna.

Step 7 Direct the new antenna cable via the same route followed by the original antenna cable on up to the hole in the fender in which the mast will be mounted.

Saab 9-3 convertable antenna will not go up. there is a clickng sound when the engine is turned off and on at the antenna.

antenna mast is no good.. you can buy a mast and have it installed or buy a used antenna and have it installed im sure Elite foreign auto parts has only saab parts.. tested and used,

Where did you get new antenna? If no instructions talk to the Autoparts store where you bought it. There should be instructions with the antenna. What happened to old antenna? A motorized antenna? If motorized, antenna has a white nylon gear tooth at back end. If it's not motorized it may not match. The bezel usually screws into the motorized device underneath the body work. Should be way to use small wrench to turn just like a nut to remove. Hope this helps. I've changed mine several times, by going throug the carwash without turning off the radio, but
different car.

SOURCE: problem removing broken antenna mast

you have to pull out the trunk interior trim panels on the left side to access it.
there will a few 10mm bolts and a connector.
