Question edited for clarity. They aren't easy to date. See the first link. Ask them direct. Also there are MANY models and you give no clue.

There is help for the older ones but not in the 93 million number range. Having said that, I would decode the serial as the 18th guitar of the 08 month in 1993. But it's a guess.

Dean guitars made in the USA follow a serial number pattern consisting of a 7 digit number with the first 2 numbers being the year of manufacture, followed by instrument production numbers. The serial number is found on the back of the headstock. Imported Dean guitars do not have year coded serial numbers and have to be dated by configuration and design.

Your Mom's guitar was made in Japan and first produced for schools; however the necks were like telephone poles so they quit making them for awhile and came back out later on. Some later versions were quite good. I would go with the Kelly Bluebook on Acoustic guitars. Thanks!

The serial can place the year at 2 different years....either a 1958 or a 1967. Goya has a long history or being bought by different companies and they all had a different way of serial numbers.
