My dishwasher doesn't seem to work. There is power and water supply, but nothing seems to happen. What could it be?

The most common cause is a faulty supply valve coil. If the coil fails, the valve never opens up to allow the dishwasher to fill with fresh water. The valve and its coil are usually accessible by removing panel below the door. Disconnect the power to the washer, and remove the coil from the supply valve. If you take the coil to an appliance parts supplier they can check it for you.

My electrolux dishwasher will not start and no lights on panel

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Electrolux dishwasher, model# EDW5505ESS, will not start and the control panel seems to be dead. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. Once power is restored, if the panel is still not lighting up, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician. I do not suggest trying to repair it yourself. There could be something other than the panel, which is causing the dishwasher to seem dead. The technicians will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing the panel to not light up. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

The dishwasher will not turn on. I've already checked my breaker box, and nothing seems to be wrong there with the dishwasher. It worked a few days ago, but now all of a suddden seems to have died.

I would first take a look inside the junction box were the power cord connects to the dishwasher. The junction box is located at the bottom of the dishwasher and can be access by removed the toe plate.
I have seen were one of the wire nuts that connect the power cord will come loose or burn off.
If the power cord is connected ok then I would check the thermo fuse with a ohm meter to see if it's blown.

Seems to have no power but plug has power

Hello- First find power box under unit. Unplug power, open cover and inspect connections. If there is a problem- loose or bad connection-  repair and see if it will run. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed. Thanks -Ed

Contunuous draining turned into a flood when unit powered off

The fill valve is governed by the float switch. I doubt that your fill valve (solenoid) has failed.

Focus on replacing the float switch and you should be all set.

Good Luck!
