Why Can't I post an Answer on Fixya?

You will need to contact Amazon about this as the members of fixya who answer the questions will be unable due to data security issues between you and Amazon other than to Call Amazon and get it sorted out

You post a question with as much information as possible about your problem and someone may read it and have a suggestion on what you have asked about
some questions have been waiting for answers for a while as no-one has come along with the required knowledge to answer them or the question is missing important information for an answer to be given

Hi Sandra:
- The way this site works is that there are a bunch of old insomniacs who like to try to answer questions. We sit around at all hours (or odd hours) and randomly scan through questions.
- Every now and then we wake up and say, "I KNOW THE ANSWER!" and we post an answer on the question.
- The FIXYA system is smart and it know that the person who posted the question wants to know the answer, so it sends an e-mail to that person saying that there has been a response.
You being that person then get so say, "WOW" if it helps, or, "HUH?" if it doesn't.
-The main point is that there is no GUARANTEE that you will get an answer.

You can always add a comment to the answer you have received.
Under each answer you have received there is a link: "comment". click this link and you will be able to keep corresponding with the expert.
The expert will be notified via email of the additional information.

Before we go down that road, how about you tell me what the problem is/was that you are having, and I'll see if I can assist you.

Be specific and give as much information about your receiver/remotes/etc etc as you possibly can. the more information I have, the better chance I can solve your issue.

Wow, well that's dumb. I should absolutely be able to delete a "solution" and you might want to consider making it possible to "comment" as opposed to every form of communication being either problem or solution.
