To change the regular blade on the DW321 type 1, unplug the power tool. To remove the blade, pull the knob on the top of the jigsaw up about 1/4". Rotate the knob clockwise until it clicks and then push it down.

There is a blade release that you have to push up while inserting blade. If this isn't the problem, there are many types of blades for different jigsaws. You need the one for your brand. Take an old blade with you when you purchase. Good luck

There should be a setscrew of some kind that holds the blade in place. Maybe like a allen or torquse bit type.

There is a black plastic switch where the blade is slid into the jigsaw. The black plastic switch can be seen and accessed from the front of the jigsaw through the clear plastic sight guide...You pull the black switch toward the bottom of the jigsaw and it opens the space for the blade to slide into, when you release the switch it will close the space and lock the blade into place.
