Hi,just inline the crankshaft to the top dead centre marks, then check that the camshaft marks line up,if they dont line up then turn the crankshaft pully again untill the camshaft marks line up,slacken the timeing belt pully adjuster take belt off and replace with new one, tighten the pully adjuster back up,now put a spanner on the crakshaft pully and turn clockwise untill the top dead centre marks and the camshaft marks inline if they dont then slacken the ajusting pully inline marks again and try again,if marks do inline ok then you are ready to start the car.
hope this helps good luck.

Reroute serpentine belt

Sorry to say about the only way to skip the compressor is when that model came without air cond and I think they all did.
Sometimes you can buy a special pulley with bracket to bypass the compressor after you take it off.
Most of the time if you try to use a shorter belt something will be in the way of the routing, or the belt will drive a pulley the wrong direction.

2003 Jeep Liberty: how to reroute belt without air conditioner

Rerouting with the original belt will not work. You will need a shorter belt and that is something that this site isn't good at - modifications. I would suggest you go to the Jeep forums.com and see if anyone there has also taken off their AC.

How do you rerout the belt on a 1994 buick roadmaster estate wagon when not using a c pulley...The ac pulley and clutch has seized up.

You will need to get an idle pully, remove the air con. pump and fit the idle pully in its place. You may be able to reroute the belt but getting a belt to fit will be a problem.
