Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Xbox 360 I'm getting the error code E 68, is there anything i can do to fix it? The cables aren't loose and everything else is good. I've taken the hard drive to a friend's house and the same message. If there isn't a way to fix it, is there a way to salvage the info on the hard drive or am I out of luck?

How do I fix a E 68 problem

Hi

Possible cause could be a faulty or loosely connected USB accessories or Hard drive.
If you are not a technical person, I shall provide you step by step procedure that will assist you in resolving the issue or at-least finding out the cause.

Safety Tip :- Before disconnecting any device from XBOX, please make sure you have switched off and disconnected all the power cables from XBOX.

  1. Unplug all USB-devices (like thumb drives, cooling fans, battery chargers, controllers) and memory units and turn on XBOX. (If it works then the possible explanation for this issue would be that one of these devices was loosely connected.)
  2. If this does not fix the issue, you will have to remove the HDD from the XBOX and reseat it(Plug it back.). (To remove the HDD , press the button on the HDD and remove the HDD, To remove the HDD from a "Slim" Xbox 360, open the HDD door and pull the HDD out of the console. If there is no HDD, that means the your XBOX is defective.

My xbox 360 harddrive has failed. the monitor/tv displayed E-68 error how do i fix it?

If the harddrive failed then you'll have to but a new one. You monitor is giving that error code because it isnt receiving a message from the xbox.

Xbox one blinking red light.. 1 not 3,, first time i seen this, fixed many ps3 ylod,, is it the same fix? looking for help here or a good link on repair info

When you get one red light flashing on the ROL of your Xbox 360 console that's an indicator of a hardware problem with the console connection to one of the parts connected to it as the hard drive or cables.

So, first disconnect all power and AV cables from the back of your Xbox 360 console and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket, wait for a minute then reconnect them all back and try to turn on your Xbox 360 console once more.

If that doesn't work, it seems then to be a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so turn off the console again and remove the hard drive then turn on your Xbox 360 console without the hard drive, supposed then to work fine, it might be an intermittent issue and when you reconnect the hard drive your Xbox 360 will work fine all after, or it will just work fine without the hard drive so it will be then definitely a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so call Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the hard drive for you.

The Xbox 360 console might even keep giving you the same error code even after you remove the hard drive so it will then appear to be a fault with your Xbox 360 console not the hard drive & also in a case like this we need to contact Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the console.

It reads error when i put my hard drive in

I'm guessing that the error your getting is E 68. E 68 means that there is a hardware malfunction somewhere inside the xbox 360 and if you only get this error while the hard drive is in then that means your hard drive is busted... Sorry but your going to have to buy a new hard drive or see if you can get it fixed. (But I highly doubt you can at a reasonable price.)

I get error code e-68

there's a possible hard drive issue on this.
try the ff:
-turn off your xbox
-remove your hdd from the xbox
-turn on the xbox while the hdd is removed
-if you're still getting the sme error code, your xbox needs to be repaired/replaced

-=hope that your xbox is still under warranty=- ^^

System error 1 light code E 68

error 68 means that the xbox has insufficient power to operate. make sure it is directly plugged into the wall. try removing accessories on your xbox like intercoolers and USB devices.

Turns on error 68 comes up

Hi,
Error 68 Is A Voltage Error. This can be caused by several Things. If you,ve recently Added any extra devices To the 360 ( Such as An External Fan et,c ) remove them and try to re-start.
Also if its a Premium, ( with Hard-Drive ) remove The Hard-Drive And see if this causing The Problem.
