Insert the r4 disk in your computer and select "open folder to view files" in the box that pops up
then click on the folder that says system v1.18 (yours might not be v1.18) then click the folder that says english. now copy and paste these 4 things (_system_,moonshell,_ds_menu,_dsmoonshell
2 are folders and 2 are programs) in the micro sd now just create a folder called games where you pasted the others and your done.the hard part is finding a decent rom site. once you download a rom paste it in the games folder and your ready to go. look on youtube for tutorials and google for rom sites.
Search on-line for an r4ds firmware(system file). download file ,usually a .rar file (use winrar to open it)
format your sd card.
send system files to sd card.
open system files on sd card and then send the five files back to sd card.
download your games (romulation.net ,the best site on the web)
again these files will be .rar
open them with winrar then send only the nds file to your sd card.
keep loading as many games as you can.

ok look up roms for the games but i dont how to work ds games which most people ask for. i have heard of a way to hack the capabilites of the ds with two cards one the PASSME card which is the ds carttridge and then the micro sd card slot that is the GBA slot on the bottom.
Super Nintendo games and any games before need emulators.. and the emulators need to be patched before they play.
google up super nintendo roms or the the title of a game and then rom.. Mega Man X3 rom

ok here we go!!!!!!rusty on this!!! so ur card is working but games no.. well if ur emulators are not pacthed they wont start so patching the emulators [or programs like ultra thing] will make sure its runs on ur R4 and make sure you download files for R4. here are the files and sites

extract the file ok get the dlltool32.exe file and drop it in a folder on your desktop and put the file for your R4 in the folder to and the emulator also then run program dlltool32.exe and chose the patch file you downloaded and the emulator file and run it! it should say patch success and now set the emulator and any files it came with and add games in the card and run it should work

Try re-loading the frimware on the SD card or loading a newer version. I have found that some firmware does not work on some R4 cards. Has this R4 ever worked? Also inspect the R4 for damage, my nephews R4 wasn't working and the problem was a bite mark on the unit

put it on your memory card for your r4 card then you should be flying.
Another tip before I go if you go to www.nitroroms.com you can get the games quicker and all the new ones.
