I have an AQUOS 60" tv that i get a message to execute auto channel scan and when I do it finishes the scan but does not apply. The tv then powers off and when I turn it on it repeats the same message.

yes so press the menu button , once the menu pops up scroll down to channel then click the right arrow then scroll down to anything meaning auto scan channels then click on that and then put your remote down and in a few minutes it will finish scanning and it should close menu and go straight to one of the scanned channels, once this happens you should treat your tv normally and go through the channels until you find something you want to watch and so on, your done. If when You scan, and you don't get at least one channel, it will keep showing You this message! look at screen it will show new channels! if no new channels check to make sure your coax is hooked up good, also make sure you are using right setting if outside antenna, select antenna, if cable select cable for your source!

I am going to assume you have auto-programmed the TV. If you haven't, do so and let it finish. Make sure you are in the right mode, e.g. Antenna for over the air and Cable for basic cable.

If you have a set top box or satellite, that box changes the channels, not the TV.

If auto-programmed it and it still won't change channels you have a bad tuner and you will need a new Main board to fix it.

If you turn the TV off by any other means than using the TV's power button you will lose the saved channels.
I think that this only applies to the first turn off after the channel scan.

Try changing channels with the button on the TV to make sure the remote is not bad. Sometimes one or just a few buttons on the remote will quit functioning. It is usually the ones that are used the most. What channel is the TV on? If it is 3 or 4 or one of the aux inputs; it may have been told to stay that way because the channels were changed by a cable box. Go to set up and scan channels into memory. After it has started, do not stop it until it says on the screen that is finished. If you stoop it before it has completed the scan, the TV will keep its original program. (one channel)

Used the tv remote go into tv Menu goto SETUP go down Ch. enter pick CABLE and enter again.Tv now will go into auto scanning for CABLE channels.After the auto scan done for the CABLE channels are finish.After this u will able to go to channel 60 to used the dish remote.

To tune your Panasonic Plasma to on air TV channels do the following:

Connect the antenna connection to its antenna in at the back panel.

Automatically searches and adds available channels to the memory.

Select "ANT in"

Select Cable or Antenna Select "Auto"
Select a scanning mode

Auto channel setup
Select "Auto program"
Select "ANT in"
Select "Auto"
Select scanning mode (ALL channels/Analog only/Digital only

Start scanning the channels

Available channels (analog/digital) are automatically set.

All channels: Scans digital and analog channels

Analog only: Scans Analog channels only
Digital only: Scans Digital channels only
Confirm registered channels

If OK is not pressed after selecting "Apply", the channels will not be saved.

The channel will be saved when no operation is performed for 60 seconds and

the "Manual program" menu will also exit automatically.
If you perform scanning more than twice, previously saved channels are erased.

Here is the procedure for auto tuning. Pleas go through it. Connect the antenna to the rear antena socket marked as &% ohms antena and continue.

If you have already run the Auto Tuner as part of the quick setup earlier in this guide, please

skip ahead to "Channel Summary" to continue setting up your television. In Auto Tuner Setup,

the TV automatically scans through all available channels, memorizing the active ones and

skipping over blank ones or channels with weak signals. This means you scan using the

CHANNEL +/- buttons), you will receive only clear active channels.
